Children from across the country are treated at the hospital. Many stay for long periods awaiting surgery, rehabilitation or extended therapy, and some are in the facility without parents for objective reasons. They need moral support, friendly communication, games, creative activities and workshops.
Customs officers collected art supplies — paints, markers, sketchbooks, modelling clay and colouring books — as well as board games, balls and other items. They brought the gifts to the hospital Church of the Protection of the Holy Virgin, where creative sessions with the children are held.
Officers spent time with the children, and the most curious among them heard about life in the customs service.
