According to an FCS Russia press release, customs officers in St Petersburg seized “more than 36,000 electronic devices” during inspections. The batch was imported in breach of the rules and is valued at about RUB 29 million.
Checks covered a retail outlet and a warehouse in the Moskovsky and Admiralteysky districts. Items seized include tyre compressors, heaters, chargers, air purifiers, portable speakers, wireless earphones, travel mugs, tool sets, PC keyboards and mice, electric shavers and trimmers, breathalysers and other consumer goods.
The business owners could not provide documents proving lawful import and circulation. The goods have been seized.
Once a court declares the seized property ownerless, it will be transferred to federal ownership.
