FCS Russia said that a mobile team of Altai Customs detained an attempt to import 714 kg of chocolate made in Ukraine.
Officers stopped a truck entering Russia from Kazakhstan. The body held 372 cartons of bar chocolate from a Ukrainian confectionery plant; such goods are under sanctions and import is prohibited.
The vehicle and cargo were returned to the sender. Authorities are considering an administrative case under Article 16.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences (breach of prohibitions and restrictions).
The check was conducted with the Altai Territory Border Directorate of the FSB. The full list of Ukrainian-origin or Ukraine-transit goods banned in Russia is set out in the annex to Russian Government Resolution No. 1716-83 of 29 December 2018.
