Domodedovo customs stop psychotropic drugs intended for marketplace sale

An FCS Russia press release reports that Domodedovo customs stopped “psychotropic drugs intended for sale on a marketplace”.

Officers detained a foreign national arriving from Istanbul via the green channel; baggage contained nine packs of “Xanax 1 mg” — 450 tablets.

He said the goods were for resale and that he was unfamiliar with customs rules.

Tests found 0.450 g of the psychotropic substance alprazolam.

Elements of Article 229.1(1) of the Criminal Code may apply (up to seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to RUB 1 million); materials were referred to law enforcement.
