Undeclared items were found in the baggage of a 33-year-old Azerbaijani national arriving from Dubai. She was stopped in the green channel during selective control; inspectors found five white-metal rings with stone inlays in her suitcase.

Examination showed the pieces were made of 750- and 950-grade gold and platinum alloys with diamond inlays. The goods were seized.

A criminal case was opened under Article 226.1(1) of the Criminal Code (smuggling of strategically important goods), punishable by up to five years’ imprisonment or a fine of up to RUB 1 million.
