FCS Russia: На российско-азербайджанском участке государственной границы отмечается устойчивый рост товарооборо…

The FCS Russia press office reported steady growth in trade flows on the Russian–Azerbaijani border. Since the start of 2026, road checkpoints have cleared more than 2.2 million tonnes of goods — 14% above the same period last year.

On average, between 1,000 and 1,300 trucks cross the checkpoints each day. No queues of vehicles have built up on this stretch of the border.

Dagestan Customs and the Border Directorate of the Federal Security Service for Dagestan coordinate operations at the checkpoints while maintaining throughput.

Food and perishable goods from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Iran and Georgia receive priority clearance, especially fresh fruit and vegetables.

The Yaragi-Kazmalyar and Tagirkent-Kazmalyar motorway checkpoints are part of the North–South transport corridor and are operating above their design capacity.
