Bakytzhan Sagintaev: Integration Creates a Predictable Environment for Business and Citizens

EEC Board Chairman Bakytzhan Sagintaev took part on 28 May in Astana in the panel “Integration Without Barriers: A Dialogue of Unions to Strengthen Economic Ties” at the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

He said that in current macroeconomic conditions, global economic resilience increasingly depends on integration groups’ ability to build complementary cooperation. The EAEU, in his view, is ready to develop practical partnerships with interested international and regional unions.

The Commission already maintains systematic dialogue with a wide range of partners — from the CIS, SCO and ASEAN to the UN and structures in Latin America and Africa. The session also addressed use of artificial intelligence in the Union’s member states, including in the context of the joint statement by EAEU heads of state at the forum on responsible AI development.

Closing his remarks, Sagintaev stressed that integration helps smooth economic disparities, raise resilience to external shocks and create predictable conditions for business and citizens through regulatory harmonisation and deeper cooperation.
