On 28 May, EEC Minister for Industry and the Agro-Industrial Complex Goar Barseghyan and Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) Director General Berik Aryn signed a protocol extending the memorandum of understanding of 22 July 2021. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
Cooperation aims at sustainable agriculture and balanced functioning of agri-food markets in EAEU member states and IOFS participating countries.
The parties will take part in joint events and exchange information on food security and forecasts for key agricultural markets. The IOFS is a specialised institution of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation; its mission includes promoting investment in agriculture, trade, science and technology.
