Supreme Eurasian Economic Council Meeting Outcomes

In Astana on 29 May, the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mger Grigoryan and EEC Board Chairman Bakytzhan Sagintayev met at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to review integration progress and adopt a package of decisions. Participants assessed implementation of strategic integration goals through 2025 and the Union's international agenda over the same period. On external trade, they backed talks on a free trade area with Tunisia and amendments to the existing agreement with Serbia.

Domestically, the Council approved reports on natural monopolies and services liberalization, agreed steps to harmonize seed-industry rules and extended financial support for cooperation projects to agriculture. A separate decision adjusted how import duties paid in Kazakhstan on goods under subsoil-use contracts are allocated.
