The Eurasian Economic Union and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation form a major pillar of global food stability, EEC Director of Agro-Industrial Policy Naira Karapetyan said at the Belagro-2026 international exhibition in Minsk. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
At the plenary session of the AgroSCO-2026 growth strategy forum she outlined priority areas for cooperation between the two blocs. The EAEU and the SCO bring together leading producers and consumers of farm produce; SCO countries account for more than one third of the Union's foreign trade in agricultural goods and food.
At the panel on export cooperation and logistics, Karapetyan presented an emerging Union-level financial support mechanism for agro-industrial cooperation. The instrument is intended to complement national farm support measures and help build cooperative supply chains, attract mutual investment and implement high-tech projects.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, participants also discussed joint R&D in livestock farming under the action plan for the Eurasian Economic Path declaration.
