EEC Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics Daniyar Imanaliev spoke for the Commission. In his view, the Union's turnover with Southeast Asian countries has already exceeded USD 26 billion, growth rates outpace many other regions, and there remains substantial room to expand supplies.

Imanaliev stressed that broadening partnership with ASEAN members ranks among the EAEU's external economic priorities. He called for better informing entrepreneurs about market access rules in both blocs, since business derives the main benefit from trade ties. Development agendas overlap on digitalization, energy, transport and social infrastructure, food security and macroeconomic stability.

Speakers included Ivan Polyakov of the Russia–ASEAN Business Council, ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General Satvinder Singh, Myanmar's planning minister and Indonesia's infrastructure coordinator, and Philippine Ambassador to Russia Igor Bailen. A framework EEC–ASEAN memorandum has been in force since 2018; separate cooperation or free trade agreements are already in place with Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore and Myanmar.
