The 31st meeting of the EEC Advisory Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, chaired by Minister for Energy and Infrastructure Arzybek Kozhoshev, focused on advancing transport integration in the Union. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
A dedicated session covered unmanned aircraft systems and aligning approaches to their regulation. Members aligned on a draft EEC Board recommendation on member-state cooperation on UAS and took note of an analytical review of civil drone use worldwide and in the Union.
The committee favoured an experiment to move to electronic permits for international road freight in Union countries. Implementation is to draw on lessons from the e-CMR pilot on electronic consignment notes. Kozhoshev said digital permits would reduce bureaucratic costs and make haulage more transparent and effective.
Discussion also covered electronic document exchange, high-speed railways, road and air carriage, inland shipping and ties with international organisations. Members received updates on drafting a roadmap for coordinated transport policy in member states for 2027–2029 and on implementing the action plan under the Eurasian Economic Path declaration.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to constructive dialogue and timely implementation of decisions.
