EAEU countries agree qualification requirements for inland water transport

On 9 June the EEC Board approved a recommendation setting qualification requirements for in-demand professions and positions in inland water transport. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

EEC Minister for Energy and Infrastructure Arzybek Kozhoshev explained that member states may take the document into account when shaping national policy, but implementation remains their responsibility and is carried out under domestic law, priorities and national circumstances.

The recommendation describes approaches to general and special requirements for workers’ knowledge and skills at different qualification levels and with regard to the specifics of duties performed.

Its application is expected to help build a single market for water transport services across the EAEU.
