Comparing conditions at these locations helps assess how control procedures are organised in various settings and shape unified approaches to carrying them out.
Together with central office staff, the Service head reviewed SPOT-related control practice, transport infrastructure and how flows are distributed when checkpoint load varies.
Discussions focused separately on boosting checkpoint throughput, refining control technology schemes and further automating processes.
Participants also considered measures aimed at shortening control times and keeping freight traffic moving without disruption across the border.
