The Eurasian Economic Commission has agreed an amendment to the protocol on sanitary, veterinary-sanitary and phytosanitary quarantine measures that will empower the Commission to maintain a register of veterinary certificate samples used when controlled goods are imported from third countries in non-standard forms. The decision was taken at a meeting of the consolidated working group on improving provisions of the EAEU Treaty, chaired at EEC headquarters by Integration and Macroeconomics Minister Daniyar Imanaliyev.
Members reviewed several aspects of updating the Union’s treaty framework; a dedicated agenda item covered veterinary documentation rules for external trade.
The agreed amendment will be included in the draft “VI Big Protocol” amending the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, which is currently being prepared.
