On 23 June, EEC Minister for Trade Andrey Slepnev and Jordan’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Al-Kudah held a videoconference on prospects for trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU and Jordan, including the possibility of a free trade agreement. Slepnev said EAEU member states attach great importance to mutually beneficial ties with Middle Eastern countries and see Jordan as one of the region’s promising partners.
The parties agreed to launch a joint study group to assess whether an EAEU–Jordan free trade agreement should be negotiated.
