FCS Russia head Valery Pikalyov is on a working visit to the Siberian customs administration's area, inspecting six Altai customs checkpoints — Mikhailovka, Gornyak, Veseloyarsk, Topolnoye, Malinovoye Ozero and Kulunda. Source: FCS Russia.
Deputy head Agepsim Ashkalov, Siberian customs chief Alexander Yastrebov and heads of FCS structural divisions joined the tour.
Veseloyarsk carries the heaviest cargo flow: about 200 trucks cross the border there each day in summer. Veseloyarsk and Kulunda are also the only checkpoints in the region authorised for timber exports.
Pikalyov reviewed border infrastructure to inform a standard customs control model under the Goods Arrival Confirmation System (SPOT).
Mobile teams must operate swiftly and with minimal hassle for carriers, he stressed. Even at lightly used posts with low or medium traffic, all control standards must be met — including the speed and quality of data exchange with tax authorities.
