On 25 June in Almaty, at the Eurasian Development Bank’s annual meeting and business forum, EEC Board Chairman Bakytzhan Sagintayev and EDB Management Board Chairman Nikolay Podguzov signed a cooperation memorandum between the Commission and the bank. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The document reflects the EAEU’s development priorities and is intended to update the legal framework for cooperation. It refreshes existing joint mechanisms and adds new areas of engagement suited to current economic and technological conditions.
The memorandum covers tools to support cooperative projects in industry and agribusiness, improved financing for exports of jointly produced EAEU goods, and closer cooperation on information technology and artificial intelligence.
Sagintayev called the signing an important step in strengthening the EEC–EDB partnership and a guide for advancing integration projects that need investment backing. The previous memorandum between the parties was signed in 2013. EDB member states are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
