Imanaliev said the EAEU’s common market could appeal to Zimbabwean businesses in mining, agriculture, technology and energy. To deepen ties, he invited officials and entrepreneurs to work on regulatory procedures within the Union and to take a more active part in integration events across the five member states.
The parties also looked at signing a memorandum of cooperation between the EEC and the Government of Zimbabwe. The ambassador stressed the importance of trade with EAEU countries, noting that cooperation volumes have nearly doubled.
Zimbabwe is a member of several African groupings, including the African Union, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
