A two-day round table on developing civil unmanned aircraft systems across the EAEU concluded at the Eurasian Economic Commission. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
Discussions centred on operating UAS under critical conditions: extreme climate and terrain, conflict zones, electronic warfare, limited communications and technogenic interference. EEC Director of the Department of Transport and Infrastructure Rustan Dzhenalinov stressed that a unified, safe market for drone-based services is impossible without accounting for the full range of such factors.
Experts reviewed international practice and set priorities for adapting ICAO standards to the Union’s aviation market. They also discussed rapid inter-agency coordination for cross-border drone flights in force-majeure situations.
Government and aviation authorities from member states, international organisations and industry specialists took part and agreed approaches to UAS use in complex, non-standard environments.
