At the 2026 UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York, EEC Minister for Energy and Infrastructure Arzybek Kozhoshev held a working meeting with Chen Zhijian, authorized director and head of international cooperation at GEIDCO, to discuss cooperation between the Commission and the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization in the energy sector. The parties aligned on priorities for further work: clean energy development, a shift to a sustainable energy model, and low-carbon development goals. They also addressed advisory support, training, and upskilling specialists in renewable energy, including through dedicated training programmes.
The EEC and GEIDCO confirmed their interest in broadening energy-sector partnership.
