EEC Technical Regulation Minister Alexander Subbotin held a working meeting at Commission headquarters with Budimir Plavšić, head of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Regional Representation for Europe. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
Subbotin underlined the EEC–WOAH memorandum of understanding, under which cooperation has continued for 12 years. The sides reviewed delivery of the 2025–2027 action programme, noted successful events for EAEU competent authorities and outlined next steps.
Plavšić briefed on Europe office plans and invited Commission staff to key WOAH venues — the General Session of the World Assembly of Delegates and regional commission conferences. The 32nd Europe regional commission conference in September 2026 will address, among other topics, biosecurity against transboundary animal diseases.
WOAH is the intergovernmental animal-health body recognised as a WTO reference organisation; its mandate covers animal health, welfare and veterinary public health. Both sides reaffirmed plans to deepen practical cooperation.
