Sheremetyevo customs seize cannabis gummies from Qatar passenger

On the green channel, a service dog named Brownie alerted to the traveller’s suitcase. Among personal belongings, inspectors found a plastic jar labelled Peach Bellini containing 22 g of yellow gummies.

Laboratory testing confirmed tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis), which is banned from circulation in Russia.

The man was detained. A criminal case was opened under Article 229.1(2)(c) of the Russian Criminal Code for smuggling narcotic drugs in a significant amount; the court sentenced him to 2.5 years’ imprisonment and a fine of RUB 30,000.
