One project concerns the exchange of data on goods and vehicles crossing the customs borders of the EAEU and Uzbekistan. The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council initiated this work in December 2025; the draft international agreement is well advanced and negotiations are expected in September–October 2026.
The information exchange is intended to make customs procedures faster and simpler, improve the effectiveness of controls, reduce discrepancies in foreign trade statistics and help prevent violations.
The parties also reviewed transit development in light of the agreement on a unified EAEU customs transit system with third parties. They discussed navigation seals, which have been used more than 70,000 times since February 2026. From 31 July, their application was extended to all road transport and additional rail cargo categories.
Uzbekistan is an EAEU observer state and an important trade partner. Its trade turnover with EAEU countries rose by 25% in 2025 to more than USD 20 billion; the EAEU accounted for nearly a quarter of Uzbekistan’s total trade and about 30% of its exports.
