On the green channel during selective screening, more than 11 litres of expensive alcohol were found in her suitcase among personal items. She said she had brought the goods at a former colleague’s request and confirmed that she knew the customs rules.
Tests confirmed original dry red wines Sassicaia, Bolgheri Sassicaia, vintage 2021. The goods were seized.
Two administrative cases were opened under Article 16.2(1) of the Code of Administrative Offences (non-declaration) and Article 16.3 (breach of bans and restrictions). Penalties may include a fine of up to twice the value of the goods and their confiscation.
Importing more than 5 litres of alcohol above 0.5% ABV is prohibited. Volumes over 3 litres must be entered in the passenger customs declaration, with duties and taxes of EUR 10 per litre above the allowance.
