At its meeting on 11 August, the EEC Board set a zero import-duty rate on titanium waste and scrap (EAEU FEACN code 8108 30 000 0) through 31 August 2028 inclusive. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
Titanium scrap is used as secondary feedstock when producing ingots and slabs: it lowers cost and speeds up semi-finished output while supporting higher volumes of finished products, said Vaagn Kazaryan, Director of the EEC Department for Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation.
Removing the duty, he added, will strengthen the competitiveness of metallurgical enterprises in the Eurasian Economic Union member states.
The decision takes effect ten calendar days after its official publication.
