They reviewed progress and next steps under the 2018 memorandum of understanding between the Commission and the Government of Thailand. Talks focused on digitalisation, transport and logistics, and green energy — areas where both sides see strong potential for the EAEU and Thailand.
Thailand is among Southeast Asia’s leading digital hubs; the Union also prioritises this agenda, including under the joint statement by the five presidents on responsible AI development adopted in Astana in May 2026.
The participants backed closer ties between business communities and coordination on multilateral platforms such as ASEAN to shape a practical regional agenda.
The meeting ended with mutual confirmation of interest in delivering the planned joint economic initiatives.
