The EEC Board carved out a separate EAEU Combined Nomenclature subheading for niobium–aluminium master alloy and set a zero import duty on it through 31 October 2028 inclusive. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The material consists of silver-grey metal granules up to 3 mm and is used in metallurgy as an alloying component when casting titanium ingots, including grades for medical applications.
The previous rate was 10% of customs value. Under code 8112 92 410 0 of the EAEU Combined Nomenclature the alloy had shared a heading with unwrought niobium (columbium) powder; a dedicated code is meant to remove that ambiguity.
EEC Minister for Trade Andrey Slepnev said the tariff measure aims to cut finished-goods costs by lowering feedstock expenses and to improve producers’ margins in the Union.
