Checks of retail pavilions under import and goods-circulation control found more than 3,300 Apple and Dyson devices, including phones, headphones, smartwatches, vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, stylers, air purifiers and hand dryers.
The shipment had entered the customs territory without proper clearance and was seized. To legalise the goods, the owner must file a declaration and pay customs charges of RUB 35 million.
FCS Russia notes that for goods brought into Russia in breach of the rules, the owner should contact a customs authority; after the cargo is verified as illegally imported, there is one month to submit a declaration and supporting documents.
