Heads of state and international organisations agreed strategic priorities for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and new joint initiatives. Modernisation of the grouping marked its 25th anniversary under the motto “25 years of the SCO: together toward sustainable peace, development and prosperity”.
Talks covered payment systems and investment platforms, digital standards and new technologies in the economy and public administration. Particular attention went to transit corridors and transport connectivity in Central Asia.
EAEU and SCO countries form the core of the Eurasian space; their cooperation shapes the region’s further path. The EEC and the SCO Secretariat work under a memorandum of understanding signed in 2021.
The summit produced the Bishkek Declaration, calling for practical multilateral SCO projects, including those using digital technologies and artificial intelligence. The SCO has ten member states; dialogue partners, observers and other international bodies were also invited to Bishkek.
