For first-year students at the Academy and its branches, the day marks entry into adult life and the customs profession; for senior students it continues their training, and for faculty and staff it opens a new cycle of teaching work.
He noted the symbolism of beginning the academic year in the 35th anniversary year of the Federal Customs Service, which safeguards economic security and supports foreign economic activity.
The Russian Customs Academy, he said, builds the human-resource base of FCS Russia and CIS customs services by combining tradition, practical experience and modern teaching approaches.
First-year students were wished diligence, persistence and responsibility in their studies; the Academy community was wished a productive year and professional success.
