On the margins of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, EEC Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics Daniyar Imanaliev held talks with SCO Secretariat and Cambodian delegations on the outlook for economic cooperation and joint events. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The SCO side was led by Adviser to the Secretary-General Kazybek Kochkonov; Cambodia was represented by Lim Phanpearak, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce.
With Kazybek Kochkonov the sides noted that the SCO is the EAEU’s largest trading partner, with turnover up fourfold over the past decade. They discussed an action plan under the memorandum of understanding; the draft is at the final clearance stage in the SCO Secretariat, with signing expected during EAEU Days in Beijing on 17 September.
Daniyar Imanaliev proposed deepening inter-integration dialogue and holding dedicated events in the EAEU–ASEAN–SCO and EAEU–SCO–BRICS formats to align initiatives more effectively and broaden business contacts.
Talks with Cambodia focused on implementing the 2016 memorandum of understanding between the EEC and the Cambodian Government: the format has put cooperation on a systemic footing, and trade between the Union’s states and Cambodia continues to grow.
Cambodia proposed holding the fifth joint working-group meeting in Phnom Penh at the end of 2026, with the agenda to be agreed in working order. The EEC minister backed resuming EAEU–Cambodia business forums with entrepreneurs and further engagement along the EAEU–ASEAN track.
