He said SCO countries account for nearly half of the EAEU’s foreign trade turnover and that the organisation is a priority partner for the Union, not merely a geographic neighbour. Over the past five years the sides have built a full interaction framework, and meetings on congress platforms have become a standing practice.
Among cooperation priorities he listed transport and logistics infrastructure, customs cooperation, industrial cooperation, energy, and digitalisation aimed at a seamless digital environment.
EAEU Days are scheduled for 17 September 2026 at SCO headquarters in Beijing, where a joint action plan under the EEC–SCO Secretariat memorandum of understanding for 2027–2030 is to be signed. The format, Daniyar Imanaliev noted, helps close the information gap that often hinders cooperation.
He also pointed to a broader agenda — an EAEU–SCO–ASEAN “integration triangle” and the gradual alignment of regulatory approaches while keeping a balance of interests.
