The EEC integration minister described Ethiopia as an important EAEU partner in Africa and pointed to openings in agriculture, industry, transport and logistics, digitalisation and sustainable development. A memorandum of understanding, he said, could be a first step toward a structured dialogue.

The Ethiopian side showed interest in EAEU integration practice, proposed sector seminars and is ready to help advance an MoU between the EEC and the African Union Commission (headquartered in Addis Ababa). They also discussed an EAEU event in Ethiopia and a session on EAEU–Africa cooperation at the 3rd Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum; partners were invited to the 6th Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek in May 2027.
