The first meeting of the Joint Committee under the EAEU interim trade agreement with Mongolia took place in Irkutsk. It set how the agreement’s bodies work and reviewed veterinary controls, technical regulation and customs cooperation. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The sides fixed indicative volumes of Mongolian meat supplies to the Union for 2027.
The EAEU raised market access in Mongolia for tobacco and tobacco products, eggs, canned fish and meat, alcohol and flour.
The Mongolian delegation was shown the EAEU’s single customs transit system. It is provided for by the agreement of 26 December 2024 and is open to partner countries.
The Second Forum of Regions of Russia and Mongolia ran in parallel. The EEC trade minister spoke at the plenary on trade and economic cooperation.
Andrey Slepnev joined a meeting of Mongolian Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral with Alexey Overchuk and Jadambyn Enkhbayar, where the committee’s results and the next set of measures were presented.
