The load was moving by truck from Kazakhstan to Russia. At a logistics warehouse in the Moscow Region, officers found a sea container holding 115 aluminium canisters of liquid.
Laboratory tests identified the contents as a mixture for producing the synthetic drug α-PVP.
A criminal case was opened under Article 229.1(4)(b) of the Criminal Code for smuggling narcotic drugs on an especially large scale. The penalty can extend to life imprisonment.
