A random check in the green channel found 26 rings, earrings and a necklace plus 74 minerals, all packed in zip-lock bags. She said she designs jewellery, bought the goods in China to make replicas and planned to sell them in Moscow.
Experts identified the pieces as 750 and 585 gold with diamonds and cultured pearls. The stones included rubies, sapphires, emeralds, aquamarines, tanzanites, tourmalines, zircons, garnets, peridots, opals, amethysts, morganites, heliodors, quartzes, jadeites, corundums, moonstones and citrines.
A court hearing the smuggling case under Article 226.1(1) of the Criminal Code fined her RUB 200,000 and ordered the goods confiscated.
