As the first agenda item, Valery Pikalyov was re-elected Council chair for one year. The FCS Russia head thanked colleagues and confirmed readiness to deliver practical results of joint work.
The session coincided with the 35th anniversary of the CIS. Valery Pikalyov noted that the Commonwealth remains a platform of equal independent states with flexible cooperation formats.
Seventeen items were on the agenda. Amid growing international trade, the sides exchanged experience on IT and software for customs control, inspection scanners and X-ray image analysis, personal-use goods rules, navigation seals, identification of foreign-trade participants and goods classification.
Cross-border e-commerce administration received separate attention. Tajikistan proposed studying CIS practice on an “e-commerce operator” institute, simplified declarations, prior information and auto-release based on risk management with AI elements. Seventeen decisions were signed.
To mark the CIS anniversary, officials received certificates and commendations from the Executive Committee. The next Council meeting is planned in Russia in the first half of the year.
