Investigators documented abuse of office and bribes totaling more than RUB 13 million for patronage in unlawful vehicle movements.

Even after one officer resigned following another’s arrest, further work established the roles of all members of the organized group.

Five cases were opened under Article 286 of the Criminal Code and two under Articles 290(6) and 291(5) for large-scale bribery; penalties may reach 15 years’ imprisonment. The officers involved are in custody.

Property obtained through the crimes, worth over RUB 80 million, was forfeited to the state.
