EEC extends re-import period for heavy-equipment spare parts to 10 years

The EEC Board aligned the re-import deadline for spare parts and equipment for ultra-heavy dump trucks with the ten-year period already available for the vehicles themselves. Source: Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

As a rule, goods exported from the EAEU may return under the re-import procedure without import duties and taxes; for some categories the deadline exceeds the three-year limit in the EAEU Customs Code (Board Decision No. 203 of 11 December 2018).

Union-made dump trucks over 40 tonnes GVW for off-road use already had a ten-year re-import window. Spare kits shipped with the trucks often could not use that window after three years if a contract was cancelled, forcing release for domestic consumption with payment of duties.

The new Board decision grants the same ten-year re-import period to spare parts and equipment if they return to the EAEU customs territory before the deadline.
