Those present sang the national anthem, emphasising unity and loyalty to the country.
Valery Pikalyov called the event historic and linked the flag to Russia’s sovereignty and continuity between generations. Hoisting the tricolour at the service, he said, honours the past and shows customs officers standing together ahead of their professional holiday.
A busy schedule is planned in the coming days covering the service’s history, achievements, and the people who safeguard Russia’s economic security.
