Officers seized three Hermès and Chanel bags, 31 garments from Chanel, Brunello Cucinelli, Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, and Schiaparelli, plus two pairs of Chanel shoes.
The passenger said the goods were personal belongings received as gifts.
Authentication confirmed the items are genuine; unpaid customs charges exceeded RUB 6 million.
Authorities are considering a criminal case under Article 194(1) of the Russian Criminal Code for evasion of customs payments, punishable by up to two years’ imprisonment or a fine of up to RUB 500,000.
