EEC Minister for Trade Andrei Slepnev and PRC Vice Minister of Commerce Li Chengan highlighted wider use of national currencies in settlements—approaching 100% for Russia–China trade—along with higher freight volumes, stronger investment flows and eased visa rules.
Both sides stressed the strategic nature of EAEU–China ties, citing bilateral trade statistics.
The protocol sets out plans for 2027 consultations on e-commerce, SPS measures and technical regulation, and approves an updated programme for trade and economic cooperation.
